An opportunity has become available for an experienced Credit Analyst within a large and well known commercial organisation. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this role is a 3 month assignment based in the inner suburbs of Brisbane, where they will provide onsite parking. Reporting directly to the Credit Manager, the successful candidate will be required to commence immediately for the role.

Your duties will include:

  • Monitor and review credit limits of new and existing counterparties; involving in-depth analysis of counterparty’s financial standing, industry review, business outlook, risks and opportunities
  • Prepare credit assessment and administer the approval process for credit limits and terms
  • Apply credit risk mitigation strategy including obtaining acceptable forms of securities from counterparty
  • Update and maintain the credit limits and data in system
  • Provide advisory function on documentary credit, bank guarantees and standby letter of credit
  • Monitor payment performance and follow up of overdue amounts
  • Review, assess and administer approval process for orders blocked due to credit violations
  • Contribute towards developing and implementing credit risk management processes
  • Active participation on improving credit risk management policies to meet industry best practices
  • Actively implement and comply with the Credit Policy; Ensure the trading and marketing business activities of Downstream business is conducted according to the Credit Policy
  • Identify, measure and control credit risk mitigation activities in Downstream business
  • Active participation in the development of information systems to accurately capture credit exposures
  • Prepare credit management reports
  • Maintain and develop relationships with relevant stakeholders


To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • 5 years minimum experience
  • Exposure to analytical credit risk assessments in a high value environment
  • Experience in business administration, economics and accounting or related field
  • Data management and master data controls
  • AICM membership advantageous
  • ERP and SAP System knowledge
  • Good Analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative analysis)
  • PC knowledge in Windows
  • Advanced Excel (mandatory)
  • Microsoft Access (intermediate) required
  • Strong Interpersonal and communication skills (essential)
  • Strong problem-solving ability
