Established in July 2021, the Young Professionals Committee mission is to be the voice for the next generation. We are now accepting expression of interest for those wishing to get involved as a volunteer and expand their professional network. The intention of this Committee is to set a structure and foundation for all future leaders activities within Canada & Australia.

Introducing the Young Professionals Committee

Laurie Mac

CO-CHAIR

Originally from Toronto, Laurie is a lawyer and currently works at the Department of Regional NSW. She previously held positions at the NSW Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions as well as the NSW Crown Solicitor's Office. Laurie holds a Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours), Bachelor of Arts in International Studies (China Major) and Diploma in Languages (French).

Laurie hopes to bridge her Canadian and Australian roots and play a part in strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations. Laurie is fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin and French.

Jacob Haeusler

CO-CHAIR

Jacob is the Executive Director at AFL Canada, the AFL's Official International affiliate in Canada. Hailing from regional Victoria, Jacob graduated with a Bachelor of Physical Education in 2012 but a passion for Sports Business drove him to follow a career in that sector.

Relocated to Canada in 2014, Jacob resides in Ottawa. He has guided the national competition through a period of growth during the pandemic and is driven to continue that growth moving forward.

Morgan Cherry

SECRETARY

Morgan is a lawyer in the Property and Corporate / Commercial team at Osborn Law in Newcastle and has ties to Canada via his father. Morgan lives and works in Australia, but still has many roots in Canada and visits family and friends as often as he can, while maintaining ties to Canada via the CACC in the interim.

Morgan has also been involved in several cross-border transactions involving Australian and Canadian companies and enjoys assisting clients from both parts of the world strengthen their relationships and expand into new territory.

International Experience Canada (IEC)

HONOURARY MEMBER

If you’re a Canadian citizen aged 18 to 35, International Experience Canada (IEC) offers you the opportunity to work and travel abroad. IEC provides you a path to a work permit or visa to work and explore in one of over 30 countries and territories.

Natalie Graser

DIGITAL MEDIA LIAISON

Natalie is a Marketing Advisor at Downer Group. Her responsibilities include promoting and communicating the various brands, maintaining client relationships, and managing digital and content marketing.

Natalie has over 15 years of marketing and event management experience and worked for a variety of professional services and education organisations. She currently lives in Melbourne and previously worked in the UK.

Courtney Latta

COMMUNICATIONS LIAISON

Courtney is a Sourcing Consultant at a recruitment agency, Healthcare Professionals Group. Originally from Thunder Bay, Courtney made the move to Australia in 2018. Courtney recently graduated from the Australian Catholic University. She looks forward to growing the YPC with the rest of the Committee in her capacity as Communications Liaison. She is particularly excited to recruit more volunteers onto the team and work on new projects in the Australia-Canada space.

Alanna Harrigan

SOCIAL MEDIA LIAISON

Alanna is a Litigation and Dispute Resolution Associate at Johnson Winter & Slattery. Alanna was born and raised in Oakville, Ontario. Alanna has strong ties to Canada and Australia, with family residing in both countries.

Alanna relocated from Toronto to Melbourne in 2017 and obtained a Juris Doctor from Monash University in 2020. She previously obtained a Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Western Ontario. Alanna looks forward to strengthening her relationships and ties between business and commerce in Australia and Canada.

Jordan Pollock

PROJECTS LIAISON

Jordan is a Mortgage/Lending Specialist currently working for a Mortgage Manager called FinancePath in Melbourne. Originally from the Niagara Region in Canada, Jordan worked in the Financial Services Industry for 5 years before relocating to Australia in 2020 and continuing in Financial Services. While in Canada, he received a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario.

Jordan hopes to bring his learnings from working and living in both Australia and Canada and
build upon the strengths that each country has to offer.

Vanya Rolli

DATA ANALYTICS LIAISON

Vanya is a Consultant at EY in the Finance Transformation practice and has experience working with not-for-profit organisations and financial institutions. Born and raised in Montreal, she has family roots in both Italy and Australia.

An avid traveller, Vanya attended the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia as part of her university’s exchange program. This rewarding experience led her to join her university’s International Committee to help students in their study abroad journeys. Vanya now aims to grow her ties between Canada and Australia with the Young Professionals Committee while helping others do so as well.
