The Japan Foundation, Sydney to at the end of this month is holding an event that may be of interest to the local Canadian community.
The events centre around Canadian-born Katsura Sunshine, who is professionally trained in rakugo, the traditional Japanese art of comic storytelling. He will appear in a talk event on March 26 in conversation with the biographer of Henry Black, an Australian who became the first-ever Western rakugo artist in Japan around a century ago. He will then do a solo rakugo show on March 28. Both events will be held at The Japan Foundation, Sydney premises and are free of charge (RSVP essential).
If you want to have your say on the proposed Single Touch Payroll initiative, the ATO wants to hear from you.The ATO’s Deputy Commissioner John Dardo says: "Under the initiative, employers will be able to meet their PAYGW and superannuation obligations automatically, every time they pay employees.“It will also simplify taking on new employees, by streamlining Tax File Number (TFN) declarations and Super Choice forms.” The closing date for written submissions to SingleTouchPayroll@ato.gov.au is 6 March 2015. Canadian Jordanian Chamber Of Commerce
It is with great pleasure to announce the establishment of the Canadian Jordanian Chamber of Commerce (CJCC) in Amman-Jordan, which would stand as the largest commercial collation between Jordan and Canada, as it aims to enforce ties between Jordan and Canada in fields of business, commercial joint ventures, employment, and education.
The Canadian Jordanian Chamber of Commerce aims to strengthen economic ties and enrich bilateral relations between Jordan and Canada, by providing investment information and facilitating all forms of communication for business and economic activities to support Jordanian- Canadian social and business relations.
The main motivation behind establishing such a Chamber is to increase the commercial volume between Jordan and Canada, as well as establishing a connection between CJCC and Canadian Chambers of Commerce in order to obtain promotional information related to the most important goods, exchange events addressing trade & industry, intercultural exchange, and awareness campaigns in Canada.
CJCC also aims to collaborate with Chambers of Commerce in Canada to jointly arrange conferences and symposiums in both Jordan and Canada to promote investment in Jordan. We will establish a periodical newsletter in order to cover important activities and events set to be held annually.
Our mission is to support Canadian businesses in Jordan by helping them to develop their networks and marketing opportunities as well as to cultivate a thriving Canadian community in Jordan.
