JACK COWIN, CACC Patron & Chairman and Managing Director, Competitive Foods
Born and educated in Canada, Jack Cowin moved to Australia and opened his first KFC outlet in 1969. With youthful innocence, positive attitude and hard work, Jack is now the chairman and managing director of the Competitive Foods Australia Limited group of companies (over 300 Hungry Jack's and KFC outlets) which has sales revenue of $1.3 billion and Net Shareholders Funds of $500 million. The company also operates five manufacturing plants which produce frozen meat products and processed vegetables for the supermarket, and food service industry. The company exports food products to 26 countries and has won several Australian Export Awards. Mr. Cowin is the owner of 98% of the group shareholding.
Mr. Cowin is also a director of the TEN Television Network and Chandler MacLeod and a Director and 40% shareholder of BridgeClimb the major tourist attraction in Sydney, as well as business interests in Canada (fast food, construction and rail).
