On the first day of winter – Tuesday 1 June – please join Jeannie Foster, President, CACC for a preview of what promises to be the most talked-about installation at this year’s “The Light in Winter” festival. Solar Equation, an animated 3D marquette of the sun, will hover over Melbourne’s skyline nightly from 4 June to 4 July 210.

Meet the world renowned creator of the work, Canadian Rafael Lozano-Hemmer, who will be on hand to talk about the development of this spectacular piece of art. Lozano-Hemmer has received numerous awards including two British Academy Awards, and has created works for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver and the 50th anniversary of the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. Air Canada flew his team, along with their material and equipment, to Australia from France and Canada to showcase the world premiere of Solar Equation.
